Job Description Gunite Foreman

POSITION SUMMARY Provides leadership, direction and supervision to the gunite crews, on site. Ensures safety and productivity of workers at the job site. Follows project plans and schedules, and communicates contingencies due to inclement weather. Inspects pre-work to ensure readiness for gunite application; ensures completed work meets quality standards. Works side by side with workers at the job site.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Read and interpret plans, instructions, and specifications to determine scope of work. • Coordinate with Project Manager to inspect all phases of rough plumbing, steel placement and elevations during construction and following completion of each stage. • Maintain tools, equipment and trucks in a clean working condition. • Deploys each crew member and enforces their role on the team. • Ensure the surface to receive the gunite is clean and dust free. • Inspects work in progress during shooting and redirects crew as necessary. • Ensures finished work meets specifications and quality standards. • Communicates curing process and timetable to Project manager. • Follows to ensure cured shell is crack free prior to marble dusting; directs repair of and defects of cracks prior to turning pool over to marble dust team. • Completes paperwork and communicates results to Project Manager on a daily basis.

SKILLS & ABILITIES Education : High School or Trade School graduate.
Experience : Minimum 4 years experience as a concrete foreman, ACI certified gunite nozzleman a plus. Other Requirements : Management or Supervisory experience. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Working knowledge of safety standards and basic first aid.
