Kleinfelder is looking for a proven business leader to strengthen our Omaha, NE operation. This position will require business development and client account management experience for engineering consulting services with national clients and teaming partners to support Kleinfelder's strategic and long-term objectives. This position will manage and direct the business development activities and functions for assigned geographic area or market sector. The will collaborate/coordinate efforts with Regional, Area and Group Managers on matters related to business development in their assigned area. The will build efficient and effective BD programs, forming capture teams, leveraging client relationships, and developing capture plans for new projects. They will create an annual Business Development Plan that identifies new market initiatives, major project capture strategies, new service offerings, new clients and potential new geographies and includes sales goals and budgets. Collaborate with the Major Market Leaders to identify project opportunities and positions the operations within those markets. Will lead and/or support major proposal and interview efforts for project opportunities. Develop a well-trained and effective sales force and mentors marketing and project personnel. Participates in the Divisional/Regional strategic direction planning process.



Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 9 years of related experience in a consulting, professional services firm or similar with multiple projects; experience in engineering, science, business or marketing field with progressively larger and/or complex projects, 5 6 years designated professional experience and knowledge of marketing and business development required

  • 3 4 years of management experience required. 2 3 years business development experience required

  • Excellent communication skills, in-depth knowledge of market areas such as understanding the regulatory requirements, project development processes,
    funding initiatives and overall sales and marketing approach for the industry

  • Knowledge of the Nebraska market in commercial, industrial, commercial and institutional engineering services sectors strongly desired

  • Proven experience in client selection, marketing efforts and successful leadership of these efforts required

  • Proven experience in the development/implementation/execution of strategic business plans required

  • Participation in professional organizations to develop effective leadership required

  • Bachelors degree in civil engineering, environmental, earth science, marketing, or related field required. Masters Degree or MBA preferred. Professional registration as appropriate
